Pfc. Trey Hardy

Escapees Captured by one of SPD's Finest

On December 7th, 2007 at 2:46 AM, while responding to an unrelated call at the Tiger Express, PFC. Hardy observed a red in color Ford F-150 at the gas pump that matched the description from a BOLO earlier in the evening that originated from North Carolina concerning 2 escaped convicts.   Accompanying the truck were a while male, who was pumping gas, and a black male, sitting in the passenger seat, both of which matched the information put out in the BOLO.  As PFC. Hardy made eye contact with the subjects, the black male started fidgeting and moving around in the vehicle while the white male moved to put the gas pump between himself and PFC. Hardy.  PFC. Hardy, having been advised that the subjects were considered armed and dangerous, and fearing a confrontation of the gravest kind was about to occur, positioned himself at the corner of the store, drawing his weapon.  PFC. Hardy advised both parties to lie on the ground and both complied after the passenger, who initially indicated he would run, was advised that PFC. Hardy’s police K-9 would be released if he did so.  Both subjects were taken into custody without further incident.
