The Department's Honor Guard is composed of sworn police officers from various units throughout the Department.  The purpose of this unit is to represent the Summerville Police Department at funerals of fallen officers, memorial services, parades and other ceremonial events. 

• Every 57 hours a Law Enforcement Officer is killed in the line of duty.

• On average, 150 Law Enforcement Officers are killed each year.
