  Corporal Chip Holmes began his law enforcement career as a Police Reserve Officer with the Summerville Police Department in 1996 while he was still serving in the United States Army.  Cpl. Holmes is a combat veteran of the Desert Storm War and obtained the rank of Sergeant First Class before retiring from the US Army 2001.  The Summerville Police Department hired Holmes soon after.  Cpl. Holmes is presently assigned to the Dorchester County School District 2 as a School Resource Officer.  Cpl. Holmes is certified in Advanced DUI Detection, Speed Measurement Devices and Advanced Criminal Patrol Procedures. Cpl. Holmes's K-9 partner, "PANTO," is a Dual Purpose male German Shepherd that was imported to the United States from the Czech Republic.  Cpl. Holmes and PANTO have worked together as a team since February 2004, when the two graduated from a rigorous 8 week training Police K-9 school in North Carolina.  PANTO is trained in the areas of Narcotic Detection, Tracking, Area Searching, Article Recovery, Building Searches, Handler Protection, and Obedience.  Both are also certified in Narcotics Detection by the American Working Dog Association.  PANTO holds the title of "Utility Dog" from NAPWDA.  Since Holmes and his partner began as a team they have racked up numerous narcotic related arrests, and the capture of several wanted fugitives. 

 

 

 

 Patrolman First Class Trey Hardy began his police career at the Summerville Police Department in 2001 when he became a Police Reserve Officer.  In early 2002, PFC. Hardy was hired on as a full-time police officer and is currently assigned to the Uniformed Patrol Division on Team 4.  PFC. Hardy's K-9 partner "REX," is a male German Shepherd that was imported to the United States from the Slovak Republic in 2006.  PFC. Hardy joined the K-9 Unit in August 2006 after successfully completing an extensive four week Police K-9 school in North Carolina.  K-9 "REX" an all black in color 'Dual Purpose' patrol canine which is certified in Narcotics Detection, Obedience, Area Search, Article Recovery, Building Searches, Criminal Apprehension, Tracking and Handler Protection.  PFC. Hardy has received training in Advanced Criminal Patrol Procedures, Street Drug Recognition, and Current RAVE Drug Trends.  PFC. Hardy is a proud member of the National Criminal Enforcement Association and the Fraternal Order of Police Tri-County Lodge 3.

Pfc. Dixon was certified as a Police Officer in June 2001 after working as a firefighter for four years.  He started working for the Summerville Police Department in February 2006 and is currently assigned to the Patrol division on Team 3.  Pfc. Dixon was a K-9 Handler while working for a previous agency and became a K-9 Handler for The Town of Summerville in 2009.  Pfc. Dixon's partner, K-9 "Zander", is a 2 year old Belgian Malinois.   K-9 Zander is a 'Dual Purpose' patrol canine which consists of Narcotics Detection, Obedience, Area Search, Article Recovery, Building Searches, Criminal Apprehension, Tracking and Handler Protection.  Pfc. Dixon has received training in Advanced Criminal Patrol Procedures, Advanced DUI, ACE Training and is a Taser Instructor.  Pfc. Dixon is a member of the National Criminal Enforcement Association and the Fraternal Order of Police Tri-County Lodge 3. 

 

 

 

 

 Patrolman First Class Brandon Hamby began his police career at the Summerville Police Department in 2006 when he became a Police Reserve Officer.  In early 2007, PFC. Hamby was hired on as a full-time police officer and is currently assigned to the Uniformed Patrol Division on Team 1.  PFC. Hamby as serves as a Field Training Officer. 

PFC. Hamby's K-9 partner "Trigg," is a male German Shepherd that was imported to the United States from the Belgium.  PFC. Hamby joined the K-9 Unit in June 2008 after successfully completing an extensive six week Police K-9 school in North Carolina.  K-9 "Trigg" a sable in color 'Dual Purpose' patrol canine which consists Narcotics Detection, Obedience, Area Search, Article Recovery, Building Searches, Criminal Apprehension, Tracking and Handler Protection.  PFC. Hamby has received training in Advanced Criminal Patrol Procedures, DEA Highway Interdiction, Advanced DUI, and Drug that Impair Driving.  PFC. Hamby is a proud member of the National Criminal Enforcement Association and the Fraternal Order of Police Tri-County Lodge 3.
